That New WKRS Show with Patrick Read Johnson, Amy Barnett, and Mike Pawlak

Patrick Read Johnson was born on May 7th, 1962.  And, again, on May 7th, 1968, while watching Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: a space odyssey.

His subsequent years as a filmmaking teen with too much ambition, too little supervision, and access to power tools and flammable liquids, might been worse on the small town of Wadsworth, Illinois, but for the intercession of his mom, his friends, a boy-wonder Hollywood director named Steven, and the editor of American Cinematographer Magazine…

The amazing story of how all of these people helped Johnson become a Hollywood director is captured in the filmmaker’s upcoming feature film “’77”, which was shot in and around Lake County.

Amy Barnett
Before growing up in Lake Villa, Amy had the good sense to be born in the U.S. Military Zone of Panama, in 1973, which, of course, makes her eligible to be president, if she can get the votes.

Amy Barnett is a professional hair stylist by day and a writer and improv performer by night.  Working everywhere from Lincoln Park to Los Angeles, our resident rocker/hair follicle engineer has been flown around the country to supervise the look of weddings, photo shoots, and motion picture work.

Mike Pawlak
Mike Pawlak, another Lake County native, was probably left here by aliens, but claims to have been born and raised in Lake Villa as well.

When he isn't hard at work on the visual effects for '77, Mike divides his time between watching any and all science fiction films and tv shows in existence, sketching and painting, drumming, and fending off the attention of geek-loving girls from all over the world.

PETE BARNETT

Amy's eligible bachelor brother, Pete, calls in, each week, to bring us the latest news from the world of Lake County fishing in "The Fishin' Condition" segment.
