(Waukegan, IL) The DUI case of former Lake County Chief Judge David Hall is back in legal limbo. Trial for Hall was supposed to start yesterday (Monday)…but prosecutors changed the plans when they appealed a ruling from last week to a higher court. The move came after a hearing last week in which defense attorneys requested that blood evidence be tossed out. The blood was drawn by staffers at the Advocate Condell Hospital in Libertyville after Hall’s 2008 arrest. The defense argued, and the judge agreed, that the blood was improperly handled, and therefore tainted. Prosecutors are looking to have that evidence reinstated…and have appealed to the 2nd District Appellate Court. The appeal means yet another delay in a case that has already been pushed back several times.
