Two Dead After Being Hit By Metra Train on Saturday

(North Chicago, IL) Two people, including a 1-year-old child were struck and killed by a Metra train in North Chicago over the weekend. The incident happened Saturday morning when Blanca Villanueva-Sanchez was rushing to catch a train, while holding Maria Cruz. Witnesses, including other family members, say the train was blowing it’s horn, and that lights and other signals were blaring when Villanueva-Sanchez ran onto the tracks. An investigation into the incident is ongoing, but at this it’s being classified as an accident.
