Spring Thaw: Flood Warnings Continue on Des Plaines, Fox Rivers

(Gurnee, IL) The Des Plaines River remains under a flood warning for the near future. Near Russell and Gurnee, the river is about a foot and a quarter, to a foot and a half above flood stage, though at this point, only minor flooding is being reported. Meanwhile, in Lincolnshire, the waterway is over 2 feet above flood stage, in the moderate flood zone. No major damage has been reported so far, and the river level is expected to head down for the rest of the week. On the western side of the county, warnings remain in place along the Fox River, which also affects the Chain O’ Lakes. The warnings may be lifted by mid-week.
